Megaforces Make Me Happy

Hey all, just chiming in again because GW made me happy.....in a time where all GDubs does is make people sad and cry....why?

I missed megaforces....

disclaimer, I never actually bought one.....

Regardless I love them, Occaisonally I still see a CSM megaforce hanging around and I always think, wow thats basically an entire, not too bad, army staright up....A good 1500 point force....Also the price was always good around just above $220.

Probably the cheapest and easiest way to get into any army....anyway I am still waiting to see another of the even older 3rd edition Massive army boxes that were about the size of a dozen battleforce boxes...I know some of you gues remember those things.

GW dropped all of thier milk bottles recently with the weight of a former 3 months worth of leaks all packed into a week.....So we see the brand new DE and Space MArine Mega Forces that will be available for the probable Christmas season, as well as a High Elf and Skaven that stay mysterious in picture, but high in model count....

I probably will pick up the Space Marine force to help bolster my own model count....Now most of the models I really dont need, pistol scouts and command squad....but that is typical of any battleforce box...but the drop pod, crusader/redeemer, dread and general bonus of marines is awesome....the DE comes with an absurd 9 reavers, raider, ravager, venom, 20 Byches, 10 warrios and 5 scourges.....A very good bonus to anyone trying to start a DE army....minus 75% of the vehicles but you get a good troop count and reaver count....good for any wyche spam in raiders list builder...

Now one thing that is depressing is that it shows every price but the American dollar (WTF americans always should come first $#^$#^$#^ joke rant aside)(SARCASM BUTTON PUSHED)

It does show every other dollar ammount, including NZ and Australian just to give a finger to the market they killed down there for thier minitures...etc...

Traditionally these boxes come in for somewhere in between $220-$250 American...yet a conversion of any of the listing prices.....based off current conversion rates shows it anywhere from $209-$245 dollars....I predict a typical $239.99.....but thats a really rough estimate

Any nerd rage? Id rather, in a large way, have terminators in the Marine box....but GW is smart and always gives you a 50/50 ix of stuff you want/need and stuff they cant sell because it sucks or doesn't work in thier boxed sets...

Except for CSM which kicked some serious @$$....Defiler, Raider, bunch of CSM's, 2 rhinos, a vindicator, some termies and a lord....which was an awesome deal.....even the older Space Marine force had a better line up list wise with a predator, RB, some assault marines, 15 marines, CS, dread, captain, and some sniper scouts....So i still have my groans but any mega force is awesome these days...IT makes a great prize for a tournament....a good gift idea for a friend to get trying to get into the hobby....and its a lot cheaper, generally running a good $75+ cheaper than buying each box individually....also it helps GDubs clear excess stock of models that dont sell and save them packageing costs....happy to help....And overall if you ever wanted to start a new army a brand new 1500 point force is always welcome...

This makes me happier than necrons....more on this later....

  1. How many points in there? Seems way shy of the 1500 points that arrived in my Blood Angels Megaforce all those years ago....not sure if I'd bite on this to be honest, unless I already had a good amount of stuff...

    Like a Space Wolves Megaforce....hmmm
