Are Space Wolves the way to go?

I feel I am shooting myself in the heart by saying it, but are space wolves the way to go for players looking for just a standard marine army to go to now (Besides BA)? Heck I hate the space pups myself...and some players still hold a grudge against the former #1 power armored army but a year away from the GK release they actually do not seem so bad....even back then they did not seem that bad just too overdone...I love me some vanilla marines but the few things they have that other codices do not you can count on one hand....which inlcudes only thunderfire cannons, biker command squads (kind of) and...hmmm what else....umm vanilla librarians kind of? (besides special characters which are starting to lose some of their flavor).......I keep looking for a solid counter assault unit on the cheap.....still cannot find a good one. Traditionally I have always done ok with my vanilla marines but the latest tournament, and the conflict, kind have got me jaded....yet I still went undefeated at last months RTT...is it just the feeling of a mediocre 10th place finishing at an RTT (out of 14) got me in the my army list blues?

Well Hey look at what just works out perfectly at 2000 points.....

The more and more popular Tony Kopach styled approach of grey hunter spam, I onyl call it that since he has used it so well recently....Hell it all works...An identical wolf guard for each rhino (melta-combi melta etc) with some room for some crazy rune priest action.....You got a great balance between counter assault and torrent of fire...even long fangs with split fire and missiles can lay down a punch against infantry and the lesser seen mech...Heck it is so efficient and versitile....am I missing something here or is that a good list. I enviously look at this list while I wait for Chaos Legions and 6th...
